Maps of World
The portal currently has over 70,000 pages, offering maps in many formats: thematic maps, political maps, physical maps, blank maps, and more. Almost 230 million maps have been downloaded, placing MapsofWorld.com among the largest mapping websites. The portal was recently launched in Spanish and Arabic versions, with great results.
MapsofWorld.com provides business-mapping solutions, and is associated with leading publishers of atlases and guides, such as Millennium House. The company also helps map publishers digitize and enhance their products, and provides digital maps and custom mapping services to businesses and corporations to help represent data in unique ways and solve real-world problems.
Recently, the website has shifted from desktop-based resources to a more diversified brand, offering educational content and services across platforms. Their flagship applications—World Atlas and World Quiz—have already crossed the 50,000 download mark. These are available for multiple platforms: iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android and the Web.
“Our goal is to quickly scale up and become the definitive resource on education—perhaps I should say edutainment—by expanding and building on our core competency: maps,” said Mani Singh, president of Mapsofworld.com. He added, “We are working on some very exciting products, which we hope to showcase soon.”
Mapsofworld.com regularly features in the Frankfurt Book Fair and other similar events. It is a white-label partner site for Travelocity, and has a strategic partnership with National Geographic to sell wall maps in the United States. It is also associated with the International Map Trade Association.
